James Bond Films - The Best?

Which Bond films are ranked at the top? Six actors (Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig) in 23 films (beginning in 1962, 50 years ago) have been called upon to portray Ian Fleming's famous 007 agent James Bond. The following feature article presents an attempt (obviously somewhat subjective) at 'ranking' the films over 50 Years, into both a top 10 and a bottom 10. On many accounts, some of the Bond franchise films have done better than others in terms of overall appeal and quality. Many have observed that the Roger Moore films have not stood the test of time as well as some of the other Bonds and their films. The films have had to adapt to the times due to changes in culture and technology - some have succeeded and some were lesser failures. Problems have included uneven plots, aging Bonds, changes in MI6 personnel and Bond Girl Beauties, and one-liners that no longer bring a laugh. See what you think about Filmsite's evaluation of these great films! The man that men want to be and women want to be with, James Bond has been enthralling audiences for over four decades, thanks to his debonair demeanor, fighting skills and penchant for snarky one-liners. The series has, over the course of more than 20 films, grossed almost $5 billion at the worldwide box office and has become an integral part of pop culture around the globe. And with the Bond films finally being released on Blu-ray, what better way to celebrate than to look back at the top 10 James Bond movies of all time. In Hollywood’s ongoing parade of McBain-esque action heroes, James Bond has always stood out as the thinking man’s choice; the one sharp drinker in a room full of oafish bouncers. While you might suspect that it comes down to nothing more than the Aston Martin and the South Kensington drawl, we think that 007’s record reveals a more complicated and subtle ingenuity. Interspersed between the gunfights, the fisticuffs and the explosions are the many situations in which Bond’s mastery of gamesmanship, mechanics and even rhetoric surfaces to save the day. Read on for our top 10 scenes in which James Bond chooses brain over brawn.
